Graduation Success Academy Instructor



Classified Position:  $ 22.85 per hour for 7 hours a day (185 days)

 

Qualifications:  Bachelor's Degree

 

  • Preferred: Applicant with a bachelor’s degree in teaching middle/high school students 
  • Applicant must be a proactive individual that is self-motivated and highly energetic.  Applicant must work well with students, parents, & community partners.   Applicant will be tutoring and assisting instruction for the Graduation Success Academy at the high school level.  Experience is preferred.  

 

Job Description

 

  • Instructor will be responsible for guiding students in completing credits through the A+ program and other course work and projects.
  • Instructor will work directly with student, counselors, community partners, school/ district administration, & parents as a team effort in guiding each student to become successful.
  • Instructor will work with students on attendance, behavior, and any unforeseen issues and report to appropriate authority.
  • Instructor will help students with future plans, such as college/job applications and resumes.
  • Instructor must provide students with resources, such as testing information, housing, food sources, and other programs that may be beneficial to the student according to needs.  
  • Instructor will be responsible for monitoring, evaluating, & facilitating students according to their Individual Learning Plans and goals.
  • Instructor will work with school administration on tutoring at-risk students
  • Plans, implements and assesses instruction designed to develop students’ abilities to use certain skills, apply core concepts. To insure students are self-sufficient individuals,  responsible team  members, with the ability to  think  and solve problems  integrate knowledge.
  • Assess student learning using a variety tools consistent with Kentucky’s Assessment Program; communicate results to students, parents and staff, make referrals for extra services as necessary. Use assessment results to design appropriate instructional activities.  
  • Creates and cultivates learning climate that supports  student achievement and safety.
  • Uses technology to support instruction; access and manipulate data; enhance professional growth and productivity; communicate and collaborate with colleagues, parents and the community;and conduct research/solve problems.
  • Identify, communicate and address Credit Recovery 

 

Terms of Service:  Salary Schedule as approved by the Board of Education.
